Helping healthcare professionals
Dutch healthcare professionals, especially nurses, are experiencing growing levels of stress and burnout, and this trend is making the industry less enticing for newcomers. At the same time we need to increase the numbers of people in care.
For 5-weeks, we immersed ourselves in the field of healthcare to tackle this challenge with a mixed team of designers, researchers, and innovators.
We interviewed, shadowed, and worked with care professionals and industry experts to identify their key needs, all the while designing solutions with them.
Collaboration with Shauna Jin, Isabel Meinema, Vincent Linssen, Thomas Holliday and Yun Fu.
We started with immersing ourselves in the world of healthcare. By interviewing a number of healthcare professionals, we gathered our first insights into the daily life of nurses: both regarding their work as well as their lives next to work.
The team visited many hospitals across The Netherlands to dig down deeper into our concepts. The healthcare professionals we consulted were intrigued and provided us with valuable insights.
Our next step was to develop our concepts further by identifying unique features, the potential market, and their USPs.
Together with the nurses, we started transforming the concepts into prototypes through sketching out the wireframes, validating, iterating and then developing higher fidelity versions of them.
We had healthcare experts give their ideas on different ways the concepts might grow in the field of health and how they could be implemented further in the healthcare industry.
The findings were shared at The Future of Health event in Amsterdam where further sessions were held with industry leaders to tackle the core issues and challenge them with the proposed concepts.
